Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Part 1

Overall Best Dishes of the Night:
Ricotta and Zucchini Ravioli, Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Banana Almond Soft-serve Sundae

Light Lab

§  Glownut—Limited Time Only
Reasonably priced ($3.00), very large normal glazed doughnut.  Great to split with the family!! Sprinkles and icing glowed in the neon light of the room. Nothing special in terms of flavor.

Earth Eats

§  Ricotta and Zucchini Ravioli
Great flavor in marinara with large pieces of zuchinni in ravioli.

§  Grilled Beef Skewers
Also, great flavor but meat cooked well done so a bit tough. Salad was good but didn’t compliment flavor of beef.

 Active Eats

§  Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese
Delicious and packed with flavor!!

§  Roasted Verlasso Salmon
Texture of salmon was dry but chimichurri sauce was rich and enjoyable. The quinoa salad was the highlight of this dish.

Coastal Eats

§  Baked Shrimp Scampi dip
Had good flavor but texture wasn’t there so dish was average at best.
§  Seared scallops
Scallops cooked very well and was well balanced with vegetables and chili-chipotle sauce.
§  Erath Pinot Gris
Was light and refreshing.

Flavors of Fire

§  Piggy Wings
Pretty damn good! Better than Sweet Pancake

§  Sweet Pancake
Sausage was good. Dish had a nice kick. Pancake was cornmeal based not potato based as expected.

  The Almond Orchard

§  Banana Almond Soft-serve Sundae
Fantastic!!!  Very light and refreshing for a hot night. However, didn’t notice any banana. One of best priced items of the night.

Thailand à NOT A DO OVER!!!

§  Marinated Chicken
Average. Chicken and vegetables were tender. Had a lot of peanut pieces.

§  Red Hot Spicy Thai Curry Beef
Needed more heat. Bit disappointing.  Tasted like a Lean Cuisine meal.
